【2023銀河娛樂澳門國際馬拉松】

澳門特殊奧運會於12月3日參加由體育局、銀河娛樂集團及澳門田徑總會主辦的「2023銀河娛樂澳門國際馬拉松」，本會共有3名運動員與3名銀娛跑友會的陪跑義工參加半程馬拉松，於當日早上6時正由奧林匹克體育中心運動場起跑，途經「澳門銀河™」綜合度假城及金光大道等路氹地標。

當天所有的特奧運動員均順利完成賽事，朱啟忠更比去年時間突破將近十分鐘，充分展現特奧運動員勇於嘗試、爭取勝利的精神。值得一提的是來自國際特奧會首席執行官Mary Davis也在當天出席活動，與運動員進行親切的交流。儘管語言不相通，但只要站在同一個運動場上，我們彷彿就像一家人。特奧運動員獲得Mary讚賞他們完成馬拉松的賽事，並作出鼓勵，體現殘障人士參與體育的權利，展示他們的毅力。

特奧會首席執行官Mary Davis獲選為2023福布斯，全球最有影響的50名女性之一。

Macau Special Olympics participated in the “2023 Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon" organized by the Sports Bureau, Galaxy Entertainment Group and General Association of Athletics of Macau on December 3rd. 3 of our athletes and 3 volunteers from the GEG Runner’s Club participated in the half marathon. They started running from the Macau Olympic Sports Centre Stadium at 6 in the morning, passing through Galaxy Macau™ integrated resort, the Cotai Strip and some other landmarks in Cotai.

All Special Olympics athletes finished the race successfully, with Chu Kai Chung beating his record in last year by 10 minutes, fully demonstrating the spirit of Special Olympics athletes’ courage and dedication. More importantly, Mary Davis, CEO of Special Olympics International, also attended the event and interacted with the athletes. Even though we don’t speak the same language, but as long as we are standing in the same field, we are like a family. Mary appreciated our athletes for completing the marathon. She also encouraged them to continue their hard work and demonstrate the rights of people with disabilities in participating in sports by showing their perseverance.

Special Olympics CEO Mary Davis has been named to one of the Forbes 50 notable women of 2023 in the Impact category.
